Rádio Mundo Melhor was founded by Bishop Herminio Malzone Hugo in 1960, 1st Bishop of the Diocese of Governador Valadares, to be the official broadcaster of the Diocese as its first associate Administrator, along with Monsignor Francisco Batista dos Santos and Father David de Alcântara Miranda.

On September 14, 1978 the João XXIII Foundation won a new station with the frequency 97.7 MHZ - World Best FM Radio, following the same purposes with different segments, aimed more at young people.

Rádio Mundo Melhor was and continues to be a school of Governador Valadares Broadcasting. Passed by it most of the professionals who today direct and act in radio stations in the city.

Thus we conquer and retain an audience composed of young and adults, male and female, opinion makers, of all ages, social classes and varied activities. It reaches the East Mineiro and the Valleys of Steel, Mucuri and Jequitinhonha and still part of the north of Espírito Santo.
